Finishing options

Below is an overview of the most common finishings for our door panels. If you have any questions or have something else in mind, please don’t hesitate to contact usand we can explore the possibilities together.

Painted finish (HDF pre-treated)

The surface of the door leaf is finished with a layer of filler that serves as a base upon which to apply the paint.

For more information, see: technical data sheets.

HPL / Veneer door with covered stile “type B”

The surface of the door panel is finished with a HPL (High Pressure Laminate) with a thickness of between 0.7 and 1.2mm, or a wood veneer of your choice with a thickness of 0.6mm.

Prior to applying the laminate or veneer, a hardwood stile is glued to the vertical edges of the door (8mm thickness). The laminate or veneer covers the stiles, so that these are not visible when the door is closed.

For more information, see: technical data sheets.

HPL / veneer door with visible stile “type C”

The surface of the door panel is finished with a HPL (High Pressure Laminate) with a thickness of between 0.7 and 1.2mm, or a wood veneer of your choice with a thickness of 0.6mm.

After applying the laminate or veneer, a hardwood stile is glued to the vertical edges of the door (10, 12, 15, 20 or 25mm thickness). The laminate or veneer finishes at the stiles, so that they remain visible when the door is closed.

For more information, see: technical data sheets.

HPL / veneer door with visible stile type “Citadelle”

The surface of the door panel is finished with a HPL (High Pressure Laminate) with a thickness of between 0.7 and 1.2mm, or a wood veneer of your choice with a thickness of 0.6mm.

After applying the laminate or veneer, a hardwood stile with double tongue and groove is glued to the vertical edges of the door (19mm thickness). The laminate or veneer finishes at the stiles, so that they remain visible when the door is closed. The outermost corners of the stiles are rounded and the join between the stiles and rails is mitred.

For more information, see: technical data sheets.

NEW!! HPL door with visible “PURE” stiles

The surface of the door leaf is finished with a HPL (High Pressure Laminate) of your choice with a thickness of between 0.7 and 1.2mm. After applying the laminate, a 7mm thick, 2-component polyurethane wax stile is coated over the door’s stiles. The coating ends at the stiles, so that they remain visible when the door is closed.

The HPL runs seamlessly into the stile, making it totally flush with the door leaf. The PU stile is body-tinted in an RAL colour of your choice and can also be used on FD doors.

The main benefits of the PURE stile are as follows:

  • very high resistance to impact
  • extremely hygienic thanks to:
    • non-organic material
    • seamless transition into HPL
  • aesthetically pleasing
  • no further finishing required
  • low maintenance
  • body-tinted
  • suitable for FD30 and FD60

For more information, see: technical data sheets.

HPL door with specific inlay (lead / steel / aluminium)

There are a number of reasons why a specific (additional) layer may be required in the door leaf, such as a layer of:

  • lead: in acoustic or radiation shielding applications
  • steel: in burglary resistant applications
  • aluminium: in burglary resistant or thermal insulation applications
