Special Doors

As a manufacturer or technical wooden internal doors, we also have a number of “misfits” in our collection. Usually, these will be doors with particular characteristics that meet a specific - often trade-related - properties formulated by the architect or developer. Given the very specific nature of these doors, they do not fit logically in any of the above product categories. Therefore, we refer to them collectively as “Special Doors”.

We distinguish the following Special Doors:

  • Niagara door
  • Light Line door
  • Deco Vision
  • Deco Twin
  • Deco Dual
  • Deco Rescue

Further information on each door type follows:

  • Niagara door

We developed the “Niagara” door for use in very damp spaces or other cleanroom applications where the doors are washed frequently and intensively. The door leaf is composed of water-resistant components that are bound together with a waterproof adhesive bonding. For the frame, we have opted for “Integral” or “Blackline”, made from 13mm HPL, or a stainless steel frame by manufacturer, Mecop. This door is not available in a fire-resistant option.

Typical applications:

Swimming baths (changing rooms), sports facilities, cleanroom, pharma industry, etc.

You can find further information in our leaflet or technical data sheet.

  • Light Line door

The “Light Line” door was designed especially for application as a ceiling-height sliding door or as a mobile sliding partition. Because traditional wood chip core doors exceeding 2,600mm in height are thickened to a 50 or 60mm door thickness (for stability purposes), for the “Light Line” doors, we work with a door thickness of 40mm for dimensions up to 3,400x1,500mm.

The core of the door is low-density fibre board. Using a light core affords the door a low weight (approx 15kg/m²) which is beneficial when choosing a rail. The lighter the door, the more elegant the railing and the more comfortable its daily use. This door is not available in a fire-resistant option.

Typical applications:

In a residential care home, as mobile partition between bedroom and bathroom.

You can find further information in our leaflet or technical data sheet.

  • Deco Vision

The“Deco Vision” is our solution for applications whereby it is desirable to have the sense of warmth and robustness of solid wood combined withmaximum light plus fire resistance. The door is composed of solid wood stiles and rails (100x50mm) of a hard wood of choice, into which fire-resistant glazing can be inserted. For different dimensions, the frame wood section remains unchanged, whilst the glazing dimensions alter to allow for maximum light.

This door is available in a RF30 minutes option accordance with Benor ATG 2498, with maximum dimensions of 2700 x 1000mm - this applies for both single and double doors. There are also combinations available with glazed side panels and / or transoms.

Typical applications are situations requiring maximum light combined with legally prescribed fire-resistance.

You can find further information in our folder or in our Benor ATG certificate 2498.

  • Deco Twin

TheDeco Twin” offers a space-saving solution in situations where there is inadequate space for a conventional hinged door. The door panel is constructed from two door parts of different widths (1/3 and 2/3), which, when the door is open, position the door half in one room and half in the other thanks to a sliding door system in the upper section of the frame. This enables the door to be opened with a much more limited turning radius compared to a traditional hinged door.

This door is solely available in a non fire-resistant option.

Typical application:

Entrance door to a bathroom in a hospital.

You can find further information in our folder.

  • Deco Dual

The “Deco Dual” is a two-part hinged door consisting of an upper and lower door panel. The upper section of the door can be opened independently of the lower section. This possibility means that potentially disoriented care patients do not leave their room unintended or unaware, yet without feeling cooped up in their room. The top door panel can be left open whilst the bottom panel remains locked.

This door is available in a fire-resistant option pending limited technical approval.

Typical application:

Geriatric ward in a hospital.

You can find further information in our folder.

  • Deco Rescue

The “Deco Rescue” is a door set designed specifically at the requests of psychiatric wards in hospitals. This door’s swing direction can be reversed in the event of an emergency. Traditionally, the access door to a hospital room would open inwards into the room.

An emergency situation arises if a patient intentionally or unintentionally barricades the door from the inside (using a piece of furniture, for example) or if hospital staff are attacked in the room. In such instances, a panic signal can be activated (pressing on an emergency button, for example) and the swing direction of the door can be switched to open outwards onto the corridor.

This door is available in a fire-resistant RF30 minutes option.
